Who is Larry Freeborg?

Revealing the potential power and fulfillment in your “bonus years” is something I never get tired of.  Each of the services I offer are designed to help you experience the richness available in your life.  I’m committed to bring more joy, satisfaction and fulfillment to those who want to make a meaningful contribution during their “bonus years”.

We live in unusual times.  Never before in history have so many people had a choice regarding how they’d like to live the last 20-30 years of their life.  Today we live longer. We’re healthier.  We’re wiser and have a lot to contribute during the “refire” phase of our life if we chose to.

“Refire” Not Retire

I’m about changing our perception of retirement.  Instead of withdrawing or receding from life, or just being busy, my purpose is to serve people in the third phase of their life (their “bonus years”) by guiding them through a self-discovery and life planning process that enables them to live the rest of their life energized and fulfilled with purpose and meaning.  It’s reported that people with purpose and meaning in their life are 40% happier, more fulfilled, than those without a purpose.  It’s also reported that those who live with a purpose in their life will very likely extend their life by eight years.  The challenge for many is determining what their “purpose” is during their “bonus years”.

I serve people coming up to retirement, or have been retired for awhile and found out that it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.  People who want to live fully engaged lives and maximize their living experience.

A Little History

For the last 25 years I’ve worked with business leaders and soloist entrepreneurs, helping them get their organizations (and themselves) aligned, focused, and inspired to capitalize on the opportunities they identified. I continue to offer that service to a few select clients today.

Initially out of college I worked for 3M Co. and Medtronic as an “intra-preneur” in various marketing and sales and leadership positions. At 27, because I was not satisfied with my progress in my life, I began my own life planning.  At 40, my wife contracted leukemia and passed away, leaving me with 4 children ranging in ages from 9-16.  This experience dramatically changed my life, and my priorities.  I worked in corporate america for 5 more years and then chose to leave and become a solo entrepreneur.  For the next 23 years I served clients as a strategic planning, problem solving facilitator, and life coach with the core philosophy that the business should work for you rather than you working for the business.  Business is part of your life….not your life.

I’ve been fortunate.  Five of my clients have been nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year or the Fastest Growing Minnesota Company within 3 years of working with me.  They did the work. I just helped them get clear and focused on what they wanted to create and supported them in implementing their vision.  The important thing for me is that they had a life along with a successful business.

My Passion

My passion is to work with individuals going through life transition.  Historically there are a lot of people just entering retirement, or have already retired and realize that it’s not everything they thought it would be.  Now they tell me there are 78 million people turning 65 and entering retirement.  My program “Living the Good Life – On Purpose” is for this group and for younger people who are searching for meaning in their life.  I help people maximize their life experience by being the gift they are, doing the work they love, with the people they enjoy.

As a facilitator, transition coach and teacher I’ve been extremely effective in helping my clients get clear about what they want to create in their lives and businesses. Clarity, combined with my client’s ability to take action has resulted in outstanding achievements.

My Learning Journey

As a result of my learning journey I’ve acquired many skills that have helped my clients move through their “blocked” areas more efficiently and effectively. My quest to learn brought me to ontological coaching taught at the Newfield Network, somatic coaching taught at Strozzi Institute, Equine Guided Coaching, Action Plan Marketing taught by Robert Middleton, The Work by Byron Katie (to move through limited beliefs), EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), and Hand Print analysis to help people find their true purpose as taught by Baeth Davis, Kay Packard and Anne Bunnell.

Our Possibilities Together

If you are in transition I’d be delighted to explore your possibilities with you.  My commitment is to help you get clear about the next steps in your life journey and provide support to help you “Live Your Good Life…On Purpose.”
